Wapping Area Guide
Wapping is located between Limehouse and Tower Bridge, originally thought to have its name from the Saxons in the fifth century. Wapping along with a lot of areas of East London is still a little historical gem, although Wapping was badly bombed during the Blitz. The Famous pub ‘the Prospect Of Whitby‘s situated in Wapping is one of the oldest riverside pubs in the East End Of London. Since Rupert Murdoch’s News International empire closed in Wapping, developers have rushed to build brand new apartments blocks and new businesses on that very location. Wapping is now one of London’s most sought-after postcodes.
